What’s up guys, Itchy Monkey Here! In this article, we will talk about Brawl Stars Matchmaking. I know and I understand that some of you have no choice but to play events with random strangers. This is probably because all your bandmates are busy, nobody’s available to play, or your Band is still a small group.

If you’re itching to play that newly opened event and earn those coins, you don’t have a choice but to play with these new found “friends”. Doing these team-ups with random people is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.

Brawl Stars Matchmaking
Playing Brawl Stars with a team within a room will not let you have a duplicate Brawler. All three players must have different Brawlers. This is not the same for the other team, especially if they’re playing with strangers. Ever since it launched in June and up to this writing, I am still getting duplicates or even all of us have the same Brawlers. This can be quite a challenge if we were all Ricochets and our opponents are all Shellys. So yes, Brawl Stars’ Matchmaking is still flawed for now.
Brawl Stars Matchmaking Explanation
The Brawl Stars dev team recently didan AMA in Reddit. A lot of questions were asked and they graciously answered. Some of these are about an incoming Brawler, Brawl Stars inspiration, and of course matchmaking.
So there you go, that’s their first answer. Brawl Stars is originally only for iOS Canada, remember? Players worldwide got their hands on the game by using a Canadian iTunes account. Since the pool is small because it is just in “Canada”, we still don’t have a choice but to stick with triple Nitas or double Jessies etc. until they release the game officially worldwide. Brawl Stars is still in beta and I’m hoping for better in the future.
Each of your Brawler earns their own trophy. All these individual trophies are added to get your own personal ranking in the game. Basing on what Brawl Stars said, matchmaking follows the number of trophies of the Brawler you’re going to use. So if you use your 150 trophy Crow, expect to face Brawlers within the same trophy count.
New Players, however, are treated fairly. Players who have less than 100 total of trophies will not get mixed with high-level players. So even though you just unlocked a brand new Brawler, don’t expect that you’ll be facing newbies.
Brawl Stars Unranked Matchmaking
Along with questions, players also give out ideas for the dev team. This includes an unranked matchmaking.
To be honest, nickrizzo has a point. It is quite stressful to rely your trophies on a team of random folks. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to partner with good players, if you’re unlucky, well, good luck to your trophies. It is indeed fun playing with other players rather than playing with Bots. I’m sure they will fix something up to resemble something like 2v2 battles in Clash Royale.
Brawl Stars Matchmaking Fix
Based on all their answers, the game’s matchmaking will more or less get fixed as soon as it hits global. The game is still in Beta anyway. We just have to be patient in facing duplicates or trios in random matches. I know it’s hard and kind of unfair, but that is why the game is in “testing mode”. Nevertheless, the game devs are working really hard to get Brawl Stars in tip top shape.

Brawl Stars Matchmaking Update – September 2017
Good news Brawlers! After countless of Balance Changes and 2 major Brawl Stars Update, Brawl Stars Matchmaking is almost resolved. I know Supercell Brawl Stars release date is not yet there but still, this is a huge leap especially if you’re fond of playing with randoms or just don’t have a choice. I say that the game’s matchmaking is “almost” resolved as my team with randoms got two Brocks in one Bounty match. It was almost game over to the other team as they have medium ranged brawlers against long ranged Brawlers. But don’t worry, this kind of doubles is really rare now in the game.
