Imagine getting all the Gems in Smash & Grab in the just to get 2 shots and die by a Piper hiding in the bushes. Situations like this make you want to just throw your phone and shout with rage! But don’t worry buddy, here’s how you can deal with those long-ranged brawlers.

How to Beat Long-Ranged Brawlers in Brawl Stars

Dealing with long-ranged brawlers starts in knowing which brawler can snipe you from a good spot. The number one on the list is, of course, Piper, who can cause a lot of damage the farther you are. Next are Ricochet, Brock, Colt, and even the Heist duo Dynamike and Barley.

Piper

Who would have thought this Princess Peach look-alike can be your worst nightmare in Brawl Stars? She certainly looks princess-y and her umbrella (parasol) looks normal but Piper initially can deal 460 DMG when she was first introduced in the game. With just two shots, time to say goodbye to your teammates and go for a time out while you revive.

This crazy high damage later on got nerfed and is currently sitting at 420 DMG (as of this writing). Even after this nerf, Piper can still sting (a lot if I may say), the best thing to do if facing Piper is to move. You can either move to the left or right or even fall back as some players do a predictive second shot for the kill. To get vengeance from you and your teammates’ untimely deaths, you have to know where she usually snipes. It can either be near their HQ or somewhere beneath those bushes. Once you already know where she hides, time to go face to face with this cute sniper. Remember, Piper’s Super lets her fly away from doom and leaves 3 grenades that explodes at 200 DMG each. If her Super is full, runaway and try again. Don’t forget to move a lot!

Ricochet

The robot who fires bouncing balls, Ricochet. He always plays hide and seek because of his mediocre HP, which used to be around 500. After the September 12, 2017 update, the ranged brawlers including Rico got a buff and his HP is now 700. As of this writing, he has the longest range in the game and next is Piper. In order to beat Rico, you need to learn to also play his game of hide and seek. Just like Piper, you need to know where he usually hides. Try to make yourself invisible and don’t fire until he is within your range. You don’t want him to fire his bouncing bullets and make enough damage for you to die. Hide beneath bushes and go for your prey.

Colt and Brock

Okay these two almost has the same wideness of range. You have to be extra accurate when using these two (especially Brock). Colt fires from his two trusty guns with a stream of bullets that run almost in a straight line. Brock on the other hand lets off a missile from his launcher. In order to beat these two, you have to check where they are both moving. In facing Colt, sometimes a player moves him left to right to make his bullets spread. You don’t want to face him head-on. This is unless you’re using El Primo because his bullets has a high DPS at 80 DMG per bullet. Eating lead from his guns is not the best route. You have to poke damage while moving around to make this Colt player go on a time out.

Same as Brock but his rockets are easier to dodge because of its speed. Once you see his bullet fly, just either move left or right and mind any walls near you as his rocket can deal a little splash damage once hit.

Dynamike and Barley

The masters of Heist and dealers of splash damage in the game. Countering these two is quite tough as they can throw their ammunition on top of walls and deal area damage. Dynamike can deal an instant damage of 180 or 360, depending if you’re hit with one or two sticks of dynamite. Barley, on the other hand, can deal 140 DMG per second while you’re inside his deadly concoction. In order to deal with these two, you also need to poke your way towards their HP. With both of them having a good range and splash, sometimes being up close is the best strategy. Some players don’t know how to time and drop their

This is the best technique, chase them down and fire your own ammunition at them.

General Tips:

In facing ranged Brawlers, it is best to keep moving. Ranged brawlers usually have a very narrow range. Making your brawler move around will make it tough for them to aim. You should also know where they usually camp and snipe. If you’re using Bo, this is a great spot to drop his mines or if you have a ranged brawler of your own, poking and running is the best advice.
